The Movement Fam's Notion (Toronto) and Cee (Montreal) teamed with Heavy Aux Records' Toronto native iLLvibe for a fresh, fun summer jam over one of Notion's productions; as the tangible chemistry between the three MCs became more evident, what began as a simple collaboration had now spawned something much larger and more exciting.
By combining their respective skillsets, everything from the artwork to the mixing/mastering to the music video was executed in-house, resulting in a product that truly represents these three artists with no outside influence. One single song, with the cover, audio and video being released over three consecutive Fridays in May 2013, has grown into a full collaborative EP entitled #Life, which will be produced and released over the remainder of the year, recorded and shot in both Toronto and Montreal.
#RoadTrippin is the first track from the EP, a soulful Hip Hop journey which encapsulates the imminent summer's carefree vibe of a bunch of friends jumping in a car and seeing where the road takes them.
This project will hone in on the real, relatable aspects of life via the lenses of these three creative individuals with a focus on art, audio, video and social media (hence the emphasis on 'hashtags'). www.hashtaglife.ca
